Wow! We have already finished 4 days of our trip and we are finding it hard to have time to get any pictures up other than the ones I can do quickly via facebook on the go. We do not really have "restful" vacations.....we see it ALL.....we'll try a quick recap for those who may want to know a little bit about what we have done. I will try to hit only the highlights and not bore you with many details (well....I probably will have too many details....but this will be a way for us to look back on our trip later....so bear with me or sign out!) : )
I will post one post for each day and a couple of representative photos....but we have THOUSANDS.....thanks to Michael. May see some of his on postcards and calendars one day!
Day One: Flying ALL Day! We left Montgomery around 6 a.m., had a layover in Atlanta for a couple of hours and landed in Honolulu around 3:30 (7:30 back home....4 hrs. difference). Around 6:30 we flew to Hilo on the "Big Island". One fun thing about the flight was that there was cheerleading squad from Hawaii on their way back from a competition and the Gator Bowl. They had won their competition! They were recognized on the flight and did a cheer for Delta when we landed. We were exhausted when we finally arrived in Hilo, secured the rental car and then did something that I avoid at home.....we stopped at WalMart for some needed supplies....just doesn't seem right to do this in Hawaii! But we had to do what we had to do. We located our cottage north of town and crashed for the night.
Days 2, 3, and 4 coming soon.....Aloha!
